Shriani Wijesinghe –
The former Health Minister and the Minister of Environment Keheliya Rambukwella was summoned to the Criminal Investigations Department today but the minister has pledged that he will appear in the CID tomorrow (01st) with his lawyers, Police sources said.

The CID has summoned him to take a state, ment regarding the infamous fake Human Immunoglobulin supply which was supplied to the Medical Supply Division of the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rukshan Bellana, President of the Government Medical Officers’ Forum, said that they would complain to the International Monetary Fund regarding the lack of enforcement of the law against the suspects involved in the fake immunoglobulin incident.

He further said that the law has not been enforced against former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Regulatory Authority Dr. Vijith Gunasekara, and Additional Secretary Dr. Saman Ratnayake who are suspected to be involved in this incident.

He also stated that it is a serious matter that the people who committed the immunoglobulin fraud in this country, who were arrested as the driver of the container car that was traveling in front of the Minister of State Sanath Nishantha’s accident, were not arrested.

It is a pity that the law should be enforced equally against the people who commit crimes but it is not done Dr Bellana says.

He said that the issue of fake immunoglobulin is an act of mass murder beyond the Easter attack and that he will take action in this matter until justice is served.
