Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has declined to participate in today’s parliamentary session (07), as reported by Ada Derana.
This decision comes despite the Speaker’s request to the prison department for Rambukwella’s participation in the opening of the new parliamentary session. The Prison Media Spokesperson confirmed that although Rambukwella was granted permission to attend the session, he opted not to participate.
Furthermore, Rambukwella has formally resigned from his position as Minister of Environment. Currently remanded in prison, he is under investigation for alleged criminal trafficking of immunoglobulin vaccines during his tenure as Minister of Health.
