A 16-year-old Kazakhstani national lost his life after a surfing incident in Sri Lanka, as reported by the Kazinform News Agency.
The young boy, a native of Almaty, Kazakhstan, was surfing when he fell into the water and was subsequently rescued on March 5th. Despite efforts to save him, he passed away to his injuries in the hospital yesterday (10).
Aibek Smadiyarov, the official spokesperson for the Kazakh foreign ministry, confirmed the unfortunate incident. He stated that all necessary assistance is being provided to repatriate the boy’s body to Kazakhstan.
The deceased teenager’s family had been residing in Sri Lanka for the past two to three years.
