Due to the overcrowding of the Intermediate Covid Bhikku Treatment Center set up at the Devon Rest e Kandy Lake round, the health authorities have decided to keep and treat the Covid infected Buddhist monks in their temples from now on Health sources said to Lankasara
Since the home quarantine of Covid infected persons has not yet commenced in the Kandy District, the process will be initiated by the monks.
However, it is reported that all the hospitals and intermediate treatment centres in the city are overcrowded due to Covid patients.
When asked why home quarantine is not been implemented in districts other than in western province, health officials said they have begun educating and training local officials, and that quarantine and treatment will begin in homes from the middle of next week.
