Ali Sabri PC, Minister of Justice has stated that he was not consulted over the appoinment of the Special Presidential Task Force for One Country, One Law and that he was not happy with the steps taken in this regard.
He has stated this in a statement to The Sunday Times and while expressing his views with several political figures, the Minister has expressed his displeasure over the failure to inform about the committee beforehand.
The newspaper report further states that even some of the members of the task force were aware that Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero would be appointed as the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force for One Law for One Country. The report states that Muslim members in particular were unaware that Ven. Gnanasara Thera would be given the chairmanship of the task force.
It is said that various civil society organizations and political parties have expressed their dissatisfaction with the appointment of Ven. Galagoda Atte Gnanasara Thera as the Chairman of the Task Force.
