An island wide power outage occurred today (09) around 6.00 PM, originating from a fault along the Kotmale to Biyagama power line.
The Ceylon Electricity Board has reported that power has been reinstated in several areas. Work is in progress to restore supply to all affected regions, and a full power supply recovery is anticipated within the next few hours.
In response to the crisis, the Power Ministry’s spokesperson has informed that CEB engineers are actively identifying the cause of the power failure to expedite the restoration process.
