The investigation of the two firearms and two live ammunition cases stolen from the two military officers during the protest held yesterday (13) at Polduwa intersection has been handed over to the Colombo Crime Division.
Military Media Spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne made a special statement today that two T-56 firearms and two ammunition magazines of 60 live rounds were taken by rioters.
The military media spokesman said that the two soldiers who were abducted were beaten unconscious.
Investigations have been started on the advice of Senior Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Western Provinces Deshbandu Tennakoon.
