Minister of Judicial Prisons, and Constitutional Reforms, has appointed a five-person investigation panel to inquire into and provide recommendations concerning the recent escape of inmates from the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Camp.
Supreme Court Judge Hector Yapa has been designated as the chairperson of the investigation board. The minister has instructed the panel to conduct thorough investigations and present a comprehensive report, along with recommendations, within a three-week timeframe.

Other members of the investigation panel appointed by the Minister of Justice include M.S.P. Suriyapperuma (Additional Secretary – Administration and Police, Ministry of Public Security), R.S. Hapu Gaswatta (Additional Secretary – Administration, Ministry of Judicial Prisons, and Constitutional Reforms), Piumanti Personnel (Additional Secretary – Law, Ministry of Judicial Prisons, and Constitutional Reforms), and DM Saman Dissanayake (Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defense).
