Intolerable demand for passport creates another long queue!

Department of Immigration and Emigration is posing a threat of collapsing entire system of the Department due to escalated higher demand for new passports , sources said.
Sources further said that Department of Immigration and Emigration cannot cope with the high demand for passports.

It is reported that the queue for those who had come to obtain passports under one day delivery service this morning was more than one and a half kilometers long.

According to department sources, the passport issuance system of the Department of Immigration and Emigration is designed to issue up to a maximum of 1,500 passports per day from the one-day service. However due to the high demand, the staff has to complete over 3,200-3,300 per day.

In this context, it is reported that the Passport Issuing Division of the Department of Immigration and Emigration is functioning these days through two shifts and accordingly, it continues to operate five days a week until around 11 pm.

A head of the department told the media that the passport printing machines currently owned by the department are designed to print a maximum of 1,500 passports per day, thus activating the high capacity to supply the demand. Due to the high capacity of the production may result a sudden faliure sources further said .
