Steps have been taken by the CID to obtain an international red warrant for the arrest of Evan Perera, the son of the former deputy minister Neomal Perera, who is considered to be the main suspect in the incident of setting fire to the private residence of Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe at Fifth Lane, Colombo 07 on the 13th sources said.
The CID also revealed that they have informed the court and arranged all the related matters and that they will take the warrant and bring him back to the country as soon as possible.
According to the CID that Evan Perera, who is the organizer of the Samagi jana Balawegaya for Wattala electorate has intervened in the incident.
He has been accused of organizing and leading the group to set fire to the house.
