A 29-year-old woman who was travelling in a bus on the Kandy Colombo main road was shot dead in a shooting by police at Danowita in this morning.
According to the Police Spokesman she was shot dead accidentally during a shooting by police during a robbery. The woman was travelling in a Colombo bound bus from Galenbindunuwewa . woman who was in the back seat of the bus was injured and died after being admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital.
Police had opened fire at a group of suspects who came to rob a bar in Danowita town.
Fled suspects have amidst the shooting were arrested by the police along with a van they arrived in for the robbery. These suspects also have sustained with injuries the Police said
