An Indian national employee was fatally stabbed by an Indian national manager working at a restaurant at the One Galle Face shopping complex in Colombo Fort.
This incident occurred last night (05) in their shared accommodation located in an apartment in Kompanjaveediya, where both individuals resided.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Ajay Kumar, died while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at Colombo National Hospital.
According to reports, the fatal altercation ensued following an argument between the 30-year-old suspect, who worked as a manager at the restaurant, and the deceased employee. The argument escalated into a physical fight, culminating in the tragic stabbing.
Law enforcement swiftly apprehended the suspected manager, who was taken into police custody along with the knife used in the fatal attack.
Police authorities have disclosed that the restaurant, which commenced operations just last month, employs approximately 20 individuals from both India and Sri Lanka.
