India signs a billion-dollar creidt line to buy essential goods
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that agreements on a US $1 billion loan relief scheme for Sri Lanka’s essential food items, including food and medicine, were signed in New Delhi this evening.

The agreement was exchanged between the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance of India and the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance of Sri Lanka SR Attygalle While Vvisiting Finace Minister Basil Rakapaksa, Indian Finance Minisster Nirmala Seetharaman, Indian Foreign Affairs minister S. Jaishankar, Indian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Gopal Bagle and Sri Lankan High Commissioner to New Delhi Milinda Moragoda were also present.
