The Polonnaruwa Wildlife Raid Unit successfully apprehended four individuals engaged in illegal mining activities in the Ambanganga Palankaduwa area of the Polonnaruwa Wasgamuwa National Park today (10) morning.

According to Kumarasiri Wijekoon, a site guard with the Polonnaruwa wildlife raid unit, the arrested suspects are residents of the Ambanganga area and are aged between 30 and 35 years.

Wijekoon further explained that these individuals had been trespassing and residing within the Ambanganga Palamkaduwa area of the Polonnaruwa Wasgamuwa National Park for an extended period.
