A minor employee at the Kandy National Hospital today (13) by the police for secretly filming the changing room adjacent to the operating room of the otorhinolaryngology Unit.
The incident came to light when a female doctor discovered a suspicious mobile phone in the changing room.
Upon checking the phone, the doctor found recorded footage of scenes in the dressing room, prompting her to delete the content and report the incident to the hospital administration. Subsequent review of CCTV footage revealed the involvement of a minor hospital employee who had been clandestinely filming in the changing room.
The arrested individual, a forty-year-old father of three, confessed to creating these videos over several months, watching them, and then deleting footage of female doctors changing.
The police are conducting further investigations into the matter. The employee’s wife, who also works at the hospital, is not implicated in the incident.
