Two fuel stations in the Gelioya area in Kandy raided by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) officials and found large stocks of fuels being hoaded despite long queues for fuel today (25).
They have been accused of concealing fuel stocks without releasing them, thinking that prices would go up.
Consumers had complained to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation over the phone while they were in the queues, and a team of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation had visited the scene and found 24,000 liters of contaminated petrol.
It is learned that despite the long queues for fuel, the employees of the two filling stations had stopped issuing fuel saying that they had run out of fuel.
