In a recent circular, Health Secretary S. Janaka Chandragupta has sternly reminded all officers under the department that disclosing information to the media without proper authorization will result in disciplinary action.
The circular cites the Institutional Code of 29.01.2015 and the State Administrative Circular of 27.09.2022, further referencing the Supreme Court Case No. SC/FR/371/2022, which prohibits public officials from sharing information with the media without the approval of the Head of Department.
The Health Secretary emphasized that adhering to these regulations is crucial to maintain organizational integrity and confidentiality. Any officials found in breach of this policy will face disciplinary punishment, in accordance with the organization’s code.
