The Vice President of the Public Health Inspectors Association, Divulapitiya Katana Chief Public Health Inspector SUCS Kulathilake told Lankasara that PHIs are not receiving any additional allowance from the government now to cover expenses incurred during Covid duties.
He said that in this situation, officers have had to personally face many serious difficulties when carrying out field duties.
He said from searching for those infected to carrying out PCR tests, food is being provided by well wishers or at times they have to make requests from those known personally to them.
