Government disbands 07 gazettes issued for control prices!

The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a gazette notification removing the control prices of many essential commodities.

The Extraordinary gazette has been issued removing retail prices of Sugar, Dhal, Chicken, Dried Sprats, Potatoes, Canned Fish, Peas, Wheat Flour, Creamy Milk Powder, Dried Coconut, Corn, etc.from yesterday (03).

With this issued gazette notification yesterday , 07 gazette notifications issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority in order to control the prices of various consumer goods will be canceled. Accordingly, the gazette notifications to be canceled are as follows.

1. Gazette notification regarding the maximum retail price of white sugar and brown sugar imposed on September 02.
2. The gazette notification regarding the maximum retail price imposed on Mysore dhal, Big onion and canned fish on 17th March 2020
3. Gazette Notification issued on 12th March 2020 for Maize
4. Gazette notification stating the maximum retail price for chicken on 12 th March 2020.
5. Gazette notification issued on 6th December 2017 announcing maximum retail prices for several items including dried fish, coconut, dried chillies and Mackerel.
6. Gazette Notification issued on 27th January 2017 Maximum Retail Price for Dried Rice Flies, Green Peas, Imported Potatoes
7. Gazette notification issued on 14th July 2016 declaring maximum retail price for chickpeas, wheat flour and imported milk powder

The Consumer Affairs Authority has also taken steps to cancel the gazette notification which had earlier announced the maximum retail price for rice.
