Former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa returned to Sri Lanka last night (26) concluding his overseas visit through Malaysia . Mrs. Ayoma Rajapaksa and the private secretary accompanied him from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by a Malaysian Airlines flight.
Sources say that Mr. Rajapaksa visited China and Myanmar and diplomatic sources say that this is the 14th visit to China by former President Rajapaksa. He is said to have visited China 13 times before becoming president.
His clclose associates say that the former president does not like to stay in the house on Bauddaloka Mawatha provided by the government and instead he requested a house in Stanmore Crescent where the former president Mahinda Rajaksha temporarily lived, but the government has arranged to give that house to Mr. Ali Sabri, the foreign minister, and he prefers to live in Mirihana private residence Sources say that he doesn’t like the house because of the nnoisy sorrounding where the house is close to the highway.
