A member of the Gampaha Municipal Council has tested positive for Covid 19.
Preliminary observations in this regard have revealed that this Member has been engaged in the field activities of distributing the allowance of Rs. 5,000 to low income families in his constituency in the last few days.
It is reported that this MP has also had a close association with a fishmonger in Peliyagoda.The health authorities say that 75 close contacts who met him recently have been identified and a definite decision regarding the situation will be taken by the Municipal Council in the next few hours.
