Opposition MPs also inquired in Parliament today regarding the sudden closure of Galle Face Green to the general public and no one gave a proper answer.
An advertisement circulating on social media stated that one million ordinary people were coming to Colombo for a massive protest.
Similarly, on April 3, the government imposed a 36-hour curfew and blocked social media for 15 hours and 30 minutes to quell protests on social media.
