The fuel quota allocated for three-wheelers engaged in passenger transport and employed full time is likely to be reviewed shortly,
Chairman Petroleum Corporation Uwais Mohomed said.
He made these observations while joining an inspection tour at Nugaduwa Galle.
The chairman said there is a need to regulate the use of fuel. It is a necessity irrespective of our earnings in foreign exchange in the future as a country.
He also said that this concept of regulating the issue of fuel should continue for a while
The minister has given instructions to identify the three-wheelers and put them into three segments full-time, part-time, and personal usage. A new scheme is underway to revise the fuel quota of full-time self-employed three-wheeler owners.
Today, anyone can get fuel within 30 minutes due to the National Fuel Quota system.
It will take some time to solve the fuel crisis.
