Former President Maithripala Sirisena, who declared that he will not support any candidate in this year’s presidential election came to Sri Vidyaloka Viharaya in Polonnaruwa New Town to cast his vote, along with his wife and son Dham Sirisena .
Speaking to the media after voting, former President Maithripala Sirisena said that there are many challenges for the new president, and that this vote has cost more than 10 Billion rupees. And will fall further into the economic abyss.
Maithripala Sirisena also mentioned that there are great difficulties for the President who is faced with such a situation to raise the welfare program of the people.
Sirisena reminded that whoever becomes president by winning this election will support him.
Recalling that he has not retired from politics, Sirisena said that he has no intention of contesting the next general election or presidential election and that he will present his opinion in his political policy.
