Victor Perera, the 30th Inspector General of the Sri Lanka Police Department, has passed away today(16). His final moments were spent at the Colombo National Hospital.
Mr. Perera, aged 75 at the time of his demise, was a father of four and resided at No. 14, Vekada, Bandaranaike Mawatha, Panadura. He had been under medical care at both the Police Hospital and the Colombo National Hospital for an extended period.
An accomplished individual, Mr. Perera held a special degree in Economics from the University of Colombo. He was also renowned for his literary talents, being an accomplished book author with a distinct flair for the arts.
The family members of Mr. Perera have conveyed that they will provide information regarding the final rites at a later time.
