Five state ministers have been appointed as Acting Ministers until the return of the President Ranil Wickremesinghe who left for UK to attend the funeral of British Monarch Queen Elizabeth II. They will be in charge of ministries under the president.
Accordingly, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya appointed as the Acting Minister of Finance while Pramitha Bandara Tennekoon was appointed as the Acting Minister of Defense. Geetha Kumarasinghe has been appointed as the Acting Minister of Child and Women Empowerment, and Kanaka Herath as the Acting Minister of Technology Development . Dilum Amunugama acts as the Minister of Investment Promotion until the president returns.
President Wickremesinghe, who reached will return to the island on Tuesday morning sources said.
