A head-on collision between two buses on the Kandy-Colombo main road in the Kajugama area resulted in the loss of one life and left nine individuals injured yesterday (29) night.
The incident unfolded when a staff service bus, in an attempt to overtake another vehicle, collided head-on with a SLTB bus en route from Kathankudi to Colombo.
The driver of the private bus involved in the collision lost his life. The deceased is a 44-year-old individual residing in the Danovita Kaburadeniya area.
The aftermath of the collision necessitated the transport of four injured women and five men to Wathupitiyala and Warakapola hospitals. Despite medical intervention, the driver of the private bus passed away due to his injuries.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the incident, apprehending the driver of the SLTB bus in connection with the accident.
