The killing of Makandure Madush in Police custody has caused a negative impact on the country

Investigations have revealed that another underworld criminal, Kudu Salindu, is working overtime to avoid the extradition of Nadun Chinthaka alias Harakkata, an underworld criminal currently in the custody of the Dubai Police.

Harakkata’s close associate, Kudu Salindu,is a resident of Dubai.

He has retained a top law firm to appear on behalf of Harakkata.

Police insiders say that the drug addicts accused of crimes flee the country when police delay investigations with the intervention of certain influential parties.

There were reports in the media that police top brass who received kickbacks from top drug dealers tried to hush up investigations to delay action.

At one time, Panadura Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Irasingha, who was investigating a drug scandal, was transferred out of Panadura while Kudu Salindu was under investigation.

Reports reveal that Kudu Salindu worked for the SLPP in the last election and was a platform speaker for a political strongman in Kalutara.

The intelligence agencies have revealed the telephone conversations Salindu had with top-rung police officers, causing ripples in the police department.

Sources said there was a possibility of the legal action launched by Salindu in Dubai succeeding because of the senseless killing of Makandure Madush.

A dangerous criminal, handed over to the government after an international investigation, was killed while still in police custody. The killing has had a very negative impact on the country.
