The Kalutara South Police have initiated an investigation following a complaint regarding an incident in which a drunken group allegedly attacked railway station employees, including the Station Master of Kalutara South, with stones.
The investigation was launched based on a complaint lodged by the Station Master of Kalutara South, detailing the events as follows:
Yesterday (19) night, at approximately 10:30 pm, a group of individuals, who were reportedly drunk, attempted to urinate on the railway station’s wall. A dispute erupted when railway workers objected to this behavior.
The group began hurling stones and causing damage, including overturning flower pots and passenger seats. Railway personnel, including the Station Master, sought refuge against the station walls to protect themselves from the attack.
At the time of the assault, six individuals, including the station commander, were on duty.
The investigation into this incident is being carried out in accordance with the directives of Headquarters Police Inspector Ruwan Wijesinghe
