Two drug addicts who stole a Boxer breed pet dog worth Rs. 55 000 and the man who bought the pet have been arrested by the Kotavila Police. According to the Police, the two men who stole the dog are heroin addicts and had sold the dog to a man in Weligama, Denipitiya.
Police said the dog had been stolen from a house in Kohuwala belonging to an Air Force officer. The theft had taken place when the mother of the officer was alone at the house.
Investigations had been carried out by the Kotahena Police. The dog was found after the police located the three wheeler and suspects involved in the theft. The men had revealed information during questioning, leading to the man who purchased the dog.
The suspects have been arrested previously for drug related charges and had been imprisoned as well.
The arrests were led by Kotivila Police OIC CI A.R.H.P Hettiarachchi and team.
