Dr. Saman Ratnayake, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, is slated to deliver a special statement before the court regarding the infamous immunoglobulin vaccine scandal, today (04).
Following a grueling 7-hour interrogation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) last Friday (01), Dr. Saman Ratnayake was subsequently arrested and presented before the Maligakanda court on Saturday (02), where he was remanded until today (04).
During proceedings in court, his legal representatives requested permission for him to deliver a special secret statement. Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama granted the request, ordering Ratnayake to appear before the court today (04) to make the confidential statement.
