The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today requested the public servants not to report to work for any other service except the essential government services.

He also requested that they refrain from engaging in non-essential travels tomorrow.

Answering a question posed by the Member of Parliament Ashok Abeysinghe to the Prime Minister regarding the steps have been taken to avoid disturbances due to fuel shortage for the students who are facing to Ordinary Level Examination on Monday the PM told this in the Parliament.
“We do not think the problem will be exacerbated by the availability of petrol and diesel by the weekend,” he said. We have fuel until mid-June. By then the examination will be over. ”

“I especially want to talk about tomorrow. We tell employees not to come to work other than the essential government services. Because from there we can save some fuel for the weekend. Then the fuel problem is solved.
