Dispute Over Pigeons Leads to a Sword Attack in Panadura

The Panadura South Police are currently conducting investigations to locate three individuals, including a father and son, who are on the run after a violent dispute over pigeons.

Today (27), they allegedly attacked a 53-year-old resident of Panadura, Vekada, Ganewatta area with a sword, causing serious injuries to both of his hands.

According to statements given by the son of the victim, three men arrived in Panadura Pahangama area while his father was traveling on a motorcycle. They reportedly fled the scene after carrying out the sword attack.

The injured individual was immediately admitted to Panadura Basic Hospital, and later transferred to Colombo National Hospital due to the severity of his condition.

The investigative team has identified the three suspects, including the father and son involved in the attack, and efforts are underway to apprehend them as they have fled the area.

Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samantha Vedage and Assistant Superintendent of Police Nishantha Senaratne, the crime branch officers, led by Headquarters Police Inspector Upul Priyankara Naulla and Chief Inspector of Police W. Wijetunga, are diligently conducting the investigation.
