Colombo Fort Magistrat Thilina Gamage today ordered the release on bail of eight persons who were president
produced to the court in connection with the attack on Western Provincial Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon.
They were released on two personal bails of five lakh rupees each.
He was attacked on July 10, the day after the infamous attack on Galle Face peaceful protesters by mob who came from Temple trees
The attack was carried out by people who recognized the DIG who came dressed in civilian clothes along the Perahara Mawatha,Colombo .
The suspects, who were released on bail, pleaded guilty to assaulting Deshbandu Tennakon.
