A woman who was arrested by the CID for questioning over a financial issue has committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the CID early hours of this morning (11), police sources said.
According to a complaint lodged against the woman regarding the loan obtained, she was arrested yesterday (10) and has been detained for questioning.
The deceased has been identified as Apsara Menike Rajapaksa, 46, a resident of Sedagala, Pannipitiya.
Her body is currently being treated at the Colombo National Hospital and further investigations are to be carried out today.
