Dayasiri Jayasekara has been removed from his position as Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). This decision was made during a meeting held at the residence of former President Maithripala Sirisena.
In addition to his removal from the position of Secretary General, Dayasiri Jayasekara has also had his SLFP party membership revoked. Former President Maithripala Sirisena signed a letter informing him of these actions.
The letter sent by Maithripala Sirisena also stated that a disciplinary inquiry will be conducted against Jayasekara, and a charge sheet related to the breach of discipline will be submitted within the next 14 days.
Dayasiri Jayasekara, expressed his loyalty to the party and called on the party to make collective decisions that are in the best interest of the people.
