The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says that it has not yet taken a decision to increase fuel prices, although the Lanka Indian Oil Company (IOC) has increased fuel prices since midnight yesterday.
The price of 92 octane petrol has been increased by Rs. 7 per liter, 95 octane petrol by Rs. 03 per liter and diesel by Rs. 03 per liter.
Sources in the Ministry of Energy say that the increase in fuel prices by the IOC will not be a serious problem as long as the government does not increase fuel prices.
