Chairman of Salusala and Laksala, Pradeep Gunawardena passed away this morning (17) due to a Covid infection. He was treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kotelawala Defense Sciences Faculty Hospital and has been receiving treatment at the hospital for several days.
Mr. Pradeep Gunawardena, who was the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Press Institute, did a great service as the Chairman of the State Trading Corporation. Mr. Gunawardena is also the pioneer in introducing the Mobitel Upahara Package to public servants. Mr. Gunawardena, who was also the organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in Colombo East, was appointed Chairman of Laksala and Salusala after the current government came to power.
