Functions of the Radiation Unit of the National Hospital have been crippled due to 10 radiology technicians fall in to victims of Covid19 , Epa Dharmakeerthi, Chairman of the Radiology Technology Committee, said.
In addition to then there are another six healthcare assistants attached to the Radiology Unit of the accidents service also tested positive with the virus he further said.
He said the hospital was currently in need of 124 radiologists, but only 68 at present.
He says the inability to perform radiation tests on patients in a timely manner also delays surgery, other necessary tests and treatments.
