Transport Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says that the Sri Lanka Transport Board is losing Rs 10 million a day due to the Covid 19 epidemic, which is a 50 percent reduction in daily revenue.
He also points out that the decline in the number of people using public transport has led to this decline in income.
About 5300 buses of the SLTB have been added to the daily service but it has not been possible to increase the revenue, the Minister said.
