The Board of Trustees of the Nallur Kovil in Jaffna has requested President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to increase the number of devotees attending the annual festival to 300.

Kurukkal Jayaseelan the caretaker of the Nallur Kovil in Jaffna has written a letter to the President stating that the permission given by the Jaffna Health Department to allow only 50 devotees to attend the annual ceremony of the Kovil is not sufficient.

Accordingly the trustees have made the request from the President pointing out that only if such a small number is allowed many pilgrims will not be able to fulfill their vows made.
