Today (20), the Colombo Magistrate’s Court issued an order directing the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take necessary actions to summon pending reports regarding the investigation into the untimely demise of business leader Dinesh Shafter.
This court order was issued during the hearing of the complaint before Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya.
The Magistrate specifically highlighted that the reports related to blood samples and other materials, which were sent for analysis to the government laboratory, have not yet been received.
Expressing concern over the delay in receiving the reports, the Magistrate emphasized the immediate need to summon them. Additionally, she stated her readiness to send reminders to the government laboratory if required.
Consequently, the Magistrate scheduled the next hearing for the 28th of the month.
