The Court of Appeal today (18) adjourned further consideration of the petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeking an order preventing his arrest in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks until June 24.
The petition was taken up before a bench comprising Court of Appeal Justices Rohantha Abeysuriya and Sarath Dissanayake.

President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva appeared on behalf of the petitioner, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and presented submissions before the court.
Deputy Solicitor General Suharashi Herath appeared on behalf of the respondents.
The respondents named in the petition are the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara, CID Officer-in-Charge Madhava Gunawardena, and the Attorney General.
