The health condition of Wasantha Perera, also known as Club Wasantha‘s wife, is gradually improving, sources at Kalubowila Hospital revealed.
Wasantha’s wife was shot during the shootout that killed Club Wasantha in Athurugiriya on the 08th of July.
The sources said she is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Kalubowila Hospital and has started to be treated without respiratory support since last Sunday.
Hospital sources also revealed that the surgery to stop the bleeding in her lungs, caused by a bullet wound to the chest, has been successful. Additionally, all three surgeries performed on her abdominal area and uterus were reported to be successful.
The sources further mentioned that the internal bleeding in her abdomen has stopped after surgery, and she is gradually recovering.
It was also noted that her memory is gradually recovering, although full recovery will take considerable time.
However, according to the hospital sources, her condition remains critical.
The murder of Wasantha Perera has made headlines, and the police are conducting investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, posters have been displayed in several areas across the country, some opposing the underworld and others supporting Makadure Madush, who was also killed.
