The Citizen Power Against Bribery, Corruption, and Waste Organization filed an official complaint with the police headquarters yesterday (18). The complaint demanded an immediate investigation into Sri Lanka’s loss to India in the finals of the Asia Cup cricket tournament.
Jamuni Kamanta, the president of the organization, personally submitted the complaint at the police headquarters. Kamanta expressed strong doubts about Sri Lanka’s defeat, which occurred by a very low margin of points in the final match. He cited these doubts as the primary reason for filing the complaint and raised concerns about the possibility of match-fixing.
Furthermore, Kamanta highlighted that previous investigations had been conducted regarding Sri Lanka’s losses in the 1999 and 2003 World Cup tournaments, examining whether those games had been tampered with.
