One of the shooters involved in the murder of Colombo businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as Club Wasantha, was arrested on August 23 in the Kawdana area of Dehiwala. The suspect, Patty Arambage Ajith Rohana, 33, is a former soldier.

Police recovered a T-56 firearm, 120 bullets, and a stock of 9 mm pistol ammunition from him. During questioning, Rohana stated that the weapon used to kill Club Wasantha was not the one they found with him, as it was quite old.

Rohana also revealed that the contract to carry out the murder came from Kanjipani Imran and Loku Patty, who are currently abroad.

In addition, Varuna Indika Silva, a 29-year-old actor, has been arrested. Silva is accused of renting a house in Athurugiriya and transporting the shooters to Kataragama by bus.
