CID to question Janaki Sirwardene once more

The CID has recorded a statement from one well-known corporate personality, Janaki Siriwardene, over her alleged involvement in the Thico Group, owned by controversial Thilini Priyamali.

Ms Siriwardene is the CEO of the Krish mixed development project in Sri Lanka known as the ONE Colombo Fort.

Last Saturday, the Criminal Investigation Department officers recorded a statement from Janaki Siriwardene, who is said to have had business relations with the managing director of Thiko Business Group, Thilini Priyamali,

Thilini Priyamali was arrested in connection with a huge financial scam worth billions of rupees and has been remanded in custody.

Police said they need to grill Janaki Siriwardena, the Chief Executive Officer of the One Colombo Fort, once again on her alleged involvement with Priyamali.

She has been questioned once on the strength of the statements made by the promoters who are suspected to have been involved in this scam.

It is said that a number of other investors are going to lodge complaints regarding her and it is reported that following this, including a doctor who invested in this company, the Criminal Investigation Department will question her again.
