Nearly 400 children who attended tuition in Kandy being sought for quarantine

It is reported that the Kandy Police Intelligence Unit has launched a complex operation to trace nearly 400 students who attended private tuition classes along with the twin daughters of a former Army Major who has now tested positive for Covid 19. The Former Army Major, a resident of Wilamuna, Teldeniya had been working as a counselor at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center.

His twin daughters who are expected to sit for the upcoming Advanced Level examinations had attended a number of tuition classes in Kandy on July 2,4,5, 7 and 9. According to sources, they had attended a Biology tuition class on the dates held by Pubudu Wijeratne at The First education institute near the Kandy Good shed Bus Stand.  Nearly 200 students had attended the classes at one time. 

They had also attended a Chemistry class held by Nadun Rajakaruna at the Sipland education institute down William Gopallawa Mawatha. Nearly 160 students had attended these classes. 

Intelligence units are also focusing on the school mates of the two students who are said to be attending a leading girls school in Kandy.
