Chief prelate of Malwathu Chapter has decided to receive any politician or any offering from them to mark Ven. Thera’s disappointment over their inaction take appropriate steps to solve ongoing political and economic crisis in the country sources said.
The chief thera has evaded from meeting the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa who sought an appointment to present proposal for 21st amendment to the constitution recently. Meanwhile group of SLPP MPs led by Kandy District member of Parliament Wasantha Yapa bandara too have been diverted from the gate when they came to seek the advice of the Malwathu Maha Nayaka Thera on the document which had been prepared stating that an interim government was essential.
It is reported that not only the Malwathu Chief prelate but all Tri Nikaya’s chief prelates too are disappointed over none of the political parties and leaders in the Parliament have responded to the proposals put forwarded by the Chief prelates so far.
