The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) initiated sample checking of fuel random samples have been taken from all petrol stations in the country and tests have been initiated.
Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told the media that the decision was taken following allegations regarding fuel quality and complaints that water and kerosene were being mixed into fuels.
The Minister has stated that if it is proved that the owner of a petrol station has violated the relevant regulations, his license will be revoked.
